Has this ever happened to you?

You were walking in a mall. You see this small little shop. It sell what you have always wanted to buy (For me, anything anime or monkey or shindong or lim bo seng or bestseller books will do) You went in. You were greeted by an unnaturally perky "May I hep chu?" Your replied, "just looking" (But we all know it actually translates to " LEAVE ME ALONE. THIS IS SO AWKWARD". The determined shop assistant refuses to give up. She stalks you around the shop until you don't feel like buying anymore. You leave the shop hurriedly to end the awkward situation.

But... I'm sure the sales assistant has also been a customer before. So why does she still give you the same treatment? Its probably because the boss sees that all the other stores are doing it, and not following suit may be regarded as bad service. The other shops see this and follow too. Its an annoying cycle.

I just wish that the sales assistants would just stand at the counter and look approachable. It I needed help, I would call her.
